Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting pharmacists in providing quality patient care and medication management. This position is based in a hospital setting and requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and acute care practices.
Duties:
- Prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Utilize aseptic technique when compounding sterile products
- Administer medications to patients as directed by healthcare professionals
- Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and restocking medications
- Maintain accurate patient records and medication profiles
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication therapy
Skills:
- Proficient in medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards
- Ability to accurately measure, package, and label medications
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills to interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and colleagues
- Familiarity with various pharmacy software systems
Requirements:
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is highly desirable
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
